Aarti Kunj Bihari Ki Sargam notation
All notes in this version are shuddh. First locate Sa, Ga and Pa, then add Re and Ma as passing notes. The closing line should settle rather than rush, so leave a small breath after the final Sa.

Practice method for this lesson
Practise the opening with fingers 1-2-3 across Sa-Re-Ga, then move the whole hand toward Pa for the answer. Keep the wrist level; lifting the wrist on every repeated note makes the pulse uneven.
Temple-style response practice
Play the first line as a clear call, leave one beat of space, and use the second line as the response. This creates room for bells or clapping and stops the harmonium from competing with the singer.
When accompanying others, simplify the last line to Ga-Re-Sa if the full turn makes the group lose the cadence.
Reading the notation: capitals are shuddh notes, lowercase are komal, Ḿ is tivra Ma, Ṡ is the upper Sa, a trailing dot (N.) is the lower octave, | separates phrases and - holds a note. New to Sargam? The harmonium notes guide maps every syllable to a key and a Western pitch.
