Hanuman Chalisa harmonium notes
This page is a compact refrain study rather than a transcription of all forty verses. It focuses on the melodic shape commonly reused from verse to verse, so learners can practise accompaniment without treating every line as a new tune.
Song type: Bhajan / Devotional
Scale / raga reference: Kafi-like

Hanuman Chalisa Sargam notation
The written phrases alternate between a Pa-centred call and a return toward Sa. Practise the Jai Hanuman line separately because its repeated Pa notes need individual attacks to keep the recitation moving.

Practice method for this lesson
Use a speaking-speed pulse first. Play only the first note of each syllable group, then add connecting notes once the words stay clear. Avoid long reverb because it can blur fast recitation.
How to support forty verses without tiring
Choose a Sa that sits below the top of the singer’s comfortable range. Keep the left-hand air and right-hand volume steady, and treat the written refrain as a reusable accompaniment pattern rather than playing continuously at full force.
After every few verses, release the keyboard for one beat and listen to the drone. That brief reset helps prevent the pitch from creeping upward.
Reading the notation: capitals are shuddh notes, lowercase are komal, Ḿ is tivra Ma, Ṡ is the upper Sa, a trailing dot (N.) is the lower octave, | separates phrases and - holds a note. New to Sargam? The harmonium notes guide maps every syllable to a key and a Western pitch.
